It is infuriating. The things you point out are true and, as everything else Israel has done, horrifying, but I don't share your view that the world was turning on Israel in a decisive way. On the other hand, if Iran can withstand the warmongers lined up against it, I think that will, finally, begin to weaken the murderers. Macron and the rest of the European scum were never going to do anything effective on behalf of Palestinians. I hope Iran will.

You could be right. It seems to me that most people everywhere already hate Israel, but that hasn't had an impact on western leaders who, after all, understand that Israel is doing the dirty work of maintaining a hegemony that gives them their power. It's true that some stories were beginning to slip through, though, into the mainstream media. And that they have mostly stopped for the moment.

Yes. You're right about that. Our collective hope is now resting on Iran. All I know is that we must, must, must get rid of IsraHELL. Zionism cannot be allowed to survive. Good help us all of it does.

Maybe part of the answer is to segment and isolate the leading individual perpetrators of this genocide. When we say that it’s “Israel” that is responsible we allow those who are doing this under the name of Israel to hide behind and strengthen the story that allows this genocide to continue, namely antisemitism. We also discount and lose the many thousands of very good people within Israel who are totally against this barbarism.

I think we need to be careful with our choice of words so as to not play into false narratives that strengthen those behind this.

Let’s go after Netanyahu - and sanction him and those close to him both within and outside the country whose only goal is to build their own power. That’s the head of this snake.

I don’t agree with much of any of this. I think it’s a sick culture, illegally and immorally imposed on the region, that should be eradicated. According to the polls, over half of Israelis support actual genocide, and a large majority want ethnic cleansing. I would have no mercy, if it was up to me, on any of these people. Satanyahu is a symptom, not a cause. The recent genocidal madness is just the latest part of something that’s been going on since the early 1940s or before.

"No amount of Iranian missiles can wash the blood from Israeli hands, cannot erase the documented evidence of systematic starvation, cannot resurrect the children whose bodies have been torn apart by Israeli gunfire over twenty months of relentless killing." Wow.

Every. Single. Word. You. Write. Tragically. True. Ramping up the genocide in Palestine and accelerating invasion of West Bank under cover of a war they started with Iran. Pure evil.

This piece is so well reasoned and excruciatingly painful to read.

May the state of Israel receive all it deserves.

NB. Eichmann was a low level but very efficient shipping clerk reassigned to transport people. He did not want to know the details. When given a chance to see inside a portable gas chamber he literally ran away.

They are much worse than Eichmann with his banality of ´just following orders’. They are taking pleasure in and celebrating these atrocities.

A truly depraved society with those who stood against genocide probably now silenced by the hue and cry of ´existential threat’.

May the sky fall on those who support and represent this ultimate evil.

Thanks for writing this. I hope you are wrong, as I’m sure you do too, and that the military pressure of the Iranian attacks forces Israel to back down.

This is a beautifully written and heartbreakingly poignant essay because it is entirely true. Yes, the timing of Israel's desperate attack on Iran does serve as cover for a ruthless, efficient extermination campaign that would both attract and repel Himmler(I say repel because he was a neat freak and the Israelis are very, very messy).

It also delays any accountability for Netanyahu for his glaring corruption, and scares the bejeezus out of the Israelis, making them more inclined to rally round their PM. It also helps Trump play a "Look over there!" game as well as it does Genocide Ben.

This diverts American public attention away from all sorts of Trumpian blunders like new taxes imposed on the public(tariffs), inflation, his failed fiasco of an immigration crackdown, inflation, looming cuts to Food Stamps and Medicaid, inflation, and things like limiting flights at Newark Airport because Elon Musk fired the people who maintained air traffic control systems, just to name a few.

Unfortunately for them, this war will make many Americans ask themselves, for the first time, "Is Israel worth dying for?" The majority answer is "Oh, HELL no." So many more Palestinians are going to die, and that's a true horror, but Israel has gone too far. I don't see how it can survive.

I do not get it. Should Tehran have not responded to the attack? What could Iran and the other resistance movements do to stop the genocide underway in Gaza short of humanitarian intervention? Mobilizations and resistance are being repressed across the west, and the process of building a political force in the USA to end the genocide is slower than the genocide itself. I hope the missiles falling on Tel Aviv change the balance of forces.

This is one of the clearest, most chilling breakdowns I’ve read—not just of the violence, but of the strategy behind the silence. You nailed it: the Iran escalation isn’t a response, it’s a rebrand. Israel gets to swap out “perpetrator of genocide” for “democracy under attack” in the media cycle, while Gaza continues to bleed out behind the fog.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation as a mechanism of extermination? That detail cut through everything. We’re watching genocide by logistics—engineered hunger, engineered blackouts, engineered silence.

This isn’t war. It’s obliteration by design. And the worst part? The world knows. It just can’t look in two directions at once.

As you wrote..."Genocide as social engineering"..."Rather than gas chambers or mass graves, the Israeli military has created a system where basic survival needs become vectors for extermination, where seeking food guarantees death, where approaching medical care invites bombing, where attempting to flee ensures targeting." There is absolutely no humanity in Israel's endeavor to wipe out Gaza, create the dominate power over the Arab countries.

What is appalling and mind boggling to me is the European countries saying Israel has the right to defend itself as the genocide in Gaza continues unabated. Israel attacked Lebanon. Israel stuck Syria. Israel started the violent hostilities with Iran. They are intentionally destroying the region with their bullets and 2000 pound US bombs. Where is Jordan and Saudis outrage? Israel should be pariah on the world stage for their murderous acts.

And it's a forgone conclusion that it's going to get worse. War is the cover for and the distraction from the ethnic cleansing and genocide that Israel perpetrating. As this war with Iran ramps up so will the atrocities in Gaza and the west bank.

Israel needs a big climax in order to finish the job.

So true, and so sickening. 300 more dead today in Gaza...while the world's attention is on Iran.

"Netanyahu's decision to attack Iran serves multiple strategic objectives that extend far beyond regional security calculations. With international pressure mounting over Gaza's systematic starvation, with European allies beginning to impose sanctions on Israeli cabinet ministers, with the Franco-Saudi summit threatening to advance Palestinian statehood recognition, the Israeli prime minister needed a crisis that would reset the diplomatic clock and restore Israel's position as victim rather than perpetrator. The Iran escalation accomplishes this transformation with surgical precision, converting Israel from a state committing genocide into a democracy under attack, deserving of unconditional support from its Western allies."

This is truly tragic. Moving attention to Iran has pushed the Gaza situation off the map. The evil that Netanyahu and his henchmen are doing finally shows their maniacal intentions. By attacking Iran they make sure that any opposition inside Israel cannot function. They make sure that most of the day the population hides inside and arrest anyone who tries to film scenes in the country that reveal what bombings really took place. I know that a large section of the population does not agree with Israel's mass murders but the Iranian attack silences them.
