The fact that Isr@el is even targeting Palestinian poets, journalists, artists etc. it’s a form of epistemological violence and also a crime of erasing civilian culture.
As you have put it in such a significant way: “Poets, by their very nature, are historians of emotions. They try to capture thoughts that are not quite easily understood in words, and as Palestinians it has been an impossible task – to capture the unimaginable grief and anger in watching the attempted erasure of your homes, your memories, and your people.” Keep writing Ahmad, for writing is a form of resistance and connects the hearts. I pray that all the poets that have been martyred, that we carry on their words and continue to live to tell their stories. 🤍
We aren’t blaming God when we say that statement. As Muslims, we believe that at the time of death, souls return back to ﷲ (God). So when we witness a death or hear a death, we say this prayer. This prayer also applies to when we experience calamities in this life as well. It’s a reminder for us of our mortality in this world and where we are headed next. So we aren’t blaming God, but we are affirming that we will return back to Him. And that we will all be accountable for our deeds including the oppressors. Hope this helps bring clarity to the statement.
Thank-you for sharing that, being unfamiliar with the culture , it struck me as unjust, Not that I am defender of any God, for I lost faith in there being any almighty being long ago. The death we see now, is by the hand of men and we must hold these men responsible for their crimes, we must never allow any men to hide behind their faith as justification to end another`s life. , I thank-you again - "As-salaam alaikum"
Thank you. In remembering these poets and their work you are ensuring we all keep them alive, may their souls rest in peace and may their words feed the free future of Palestine.
What beautiful artists and words - thank you. Reading this I'm also reminded that it is a crime to look away from what has been happening - to deny these lives is a crime.
I don't have the words to express my sadness, nor my thankfulness that you have captured the words that illuminate the beauty of the spirits of these gifted martyred writers.
The bones of killed innocent Palestinian children and of the fallen peaceful civilians, their parents and elders, all of whom have resisted to the very end against massive waves of invaders, beastly murderers, their missiles, bombs and fires, ..... those bits of bones, both small baby ones and other big adult bones, they are still there .... unburied in the rubble of Gaza.
Their cradles in pieces, their toys, humble clothes and chattered bones are now incessantly being plowed and bulldozed away, together with burned debris of walls which once sheltered their sweet feeding mothers and their hard working fathers.
Those extensions of hallowed soil will soon and once more be again desecrated by tourist buildings, "marble arches and marble banks", trimmed green golf fields, the kind of grounds that the devil will call beautiful, yet, for for us, mere humans, those fields are forever filthy, cursed and vilified!
It is not wise to build a gambling palace on a Killing Field, a place full of little bones and broken toys, mothers frozen with arms stretched forever seeking their children. The rubble is soaked with sorrow and frozen in time are the memories of children laughing, whose sweet voices are stilled forever, their small bodies crushed beneath their crushed hopes and dreams are but dust in the wind.
A beautiful land once, even its carefully nurtured olive trees slaughtered by men with hearts of stone, long guns and the gear of professional murderers.
To them the beautiful children skipping among the chunks of concrete are not human. The call them animals and agree that they have no right to live.
They will never marry, never go back to school nor will they play their silly children’s games in the shadow of death between broken pillars that once were homes.
Thank you for sharing their beautiful work, Ahmad. I am glad in this way, we can keep their spirits alive and carry on their message. I hope that one day soon, their land will be free, this genocide will end iA, and that they will be honored and remembered for their courage and dignity in the midst of such overwhelming oppression and suffering
So very powerful and moving. All of them. They - and the words of others - need to be kept and published all together in a compendium of the hope and horrors of this on going genocide with seemingly no end in sight as most of the world condemns but does nothing. I understand the ‘complexity’ of dealing with US funded Israhell, but shame on the world……

BONES OF BABIES

Out lives r all of earth n earth is wishing it was joyful or #happy but never is
It's how it feels
Thank you for sharing this.
When I read your words
that a part of you had died,
I cried.
But a part of all of us has died.
A part of all of us has been murdered,
wounded, tortured, violated, starved, robbed, and forgotten.
A part of all our humanity
has been lost forever.
But a part of us is still crying.
A part of us is still dying.
A part of us has surrendered
to the melancholy of hopelessness.
But a part of us is still angry.
And a part of me wonders
if only my words truly could kill,
I’m afraid of what would be.
The quality of the articles you provide daily is so impressive. Thank you for your work
