Thank you - the violent Arab stereotype is still alive and well unfortunately. I heard Israeli historian Benny Morris recently state that Israel had to defend itself against Arab countries that would have wiped it out because it's part of Arab culture to fight to the death. Never mind Israel (and as you note below, Europe's) own history of barbaric violence.
And regarding the comment below: we can both sympathize with the 9/11 victims and criticize western media for perpetuating the trope of the violent Arab.
